49 Top Images Take Shelter Movie Review - Michael Shannon in Take Shelter, 2011 | Apocalypse movies .... Nichols experiments with genre in hallucinatory moments that bring to mind horror movies. The writing created a carefully shannon's ability to enhance the dimension of his character made this movie work. It's a near flawless exercise in enigmatic but measured filmmaking anchored by an unforgettable oscar worthy performance from michael shannon. I also found myself feeling his absolute dread at those horrifying dreams. I really don't know how i ever missed seeing this movie.
